The Way Too Early Wrestlemania Card Prediction

Updated: Dec 13, 2020

So every year, I find it fun around this time of the calendar to start thinking about what we could get at WrestleMania. I know the Royal Rumble is usually the start of “WrestleMania Season,” but this little boy’s excitement just can’t be contained! Lots of Matches! And I'm sure I'm way off on most of them, but it’s fun to play “Booker,” right? So here is what I think we could see at this Year’s WrestleMania!

UNIVERSAL CHAMPIONSHIP

**ROMAN REIGNS vs THE ROCK

If WWE is ever gonna spend the money to bring The Rock back, it feels like there isn't a better time than now. The Universal Champion got the Blessing from the Legendary WWE Hall of Famers, The Wild Samoans (who are Roman's Father and Uncle) at Hell in a Cell to be the Leader of the Family and sit at the head of the Table. But there is one person in that family that could stake that claim as well, and that's Roman's cousin, The Rock. I'm sure all parties involved would want to partake in this Match the cost of insurance for The Rock to wrestle again is pretty pricey. The last time we saw the Rock in a set Matchup in a WWE, he lost the WWE Championship to John Cena at WrestleMania 29 and was injured in that Match, which caused a delay in a movie he was set to begin filming after Mania was over. So Hollywood has put a Price on the Rock. (The Rock did wrestle once after this in an Impromptu Match against Erick Rowan at WrestleMania 32.) But as I mentioned at the top, if there was ever a time to put up the money to bring The Rock to Smackdown on the Road to WrestleMania, this is the time. Pull the Trigger on this, Vince!

WWE CHAMPIONSHIP

**DREW MCINTYRE vs AJ STYLES

AJ Styles just qualified for a Triple Threat Match where the winner will be the Next Challenger for the WWE Championship so that kinda throws a potential wrench in this. Hopefully, Keith Lee will get the nod so that they can hold off on McIntyre/Styles for Mania. With that, I guess an Early Royal Rumble Prediction for me at this point is AJ Styles winning so that he can challenge Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship. These are the Top 2 Guys they have on Monday Night. The Fiend could be in that Argument as well, but McIntyre has done a Fantastic Job as Champion in 2020, and AJ Styles is Arguably the Best Pro Wrestler on the planet, so to me, this is a No Brainer on the Raw side of things for WrestleMania.

LAST MAN STANDING

**BRAY WYATT vs BROCK LESNAR

The whole thing with Bray Wyatt, and specifically The Fiend, is that The Fiend never forgets the people that have wronged Bray Wyatt over the years. So a match with Brock Lesnar doesn't fit. I get that. And most would say that a McIntyre-Lesnar Rematch from Last Year's WrestleMania probably makes the most sense for the WWE Championship. But if you could start something with these two and get it to the point where there's a Last Man Standing Stipulation, then I think people would be pretty excited to watch. It'll keep Lesnar away from the WWE Title (which is everyone's Biggest Complaint about Brock) and it puts AJ Styles back into it (AJ hasn't been in the Title Picture for a few years now). So, to me, this would check all boxes for Wrestling Fans.

**DANIEL BRYAN vs JOHN CENA

Cant have Mania without "Big Match John," right? How 'bout this twist though? Just like Roman Reigns, everybody has been itching for Heel Cena. I'm not saying turn him back into the Beloved Doctor of Thuganomics, but Cena pulled a heel move a few years back by leaving Daniel Bryan's Sister-in-Law, Nikki Bella, after proposing for her at this very event a few years back. Cena has recently gotten engaged to his New Girlfriend, and he could play this story by telling Daniel Bryan he should've gotten out too. Life is better without the Bellas around!!! He could fire DB up with that, considering DB and his wife, Brie Bella, just gave birth to their 2nd Child. These two have wrestled before at Major PPVs, so there's that story to go with this as well. There's a lot here for WWE to play with. Thinking it through though, knowing what we know about Cena, I'm sure he wouldn't want to play this part, but it would be very intriguing! Plus, with DB being a Smackdown SuperStar, having a Heel Cena (along with The Rock, as I mentioned above) on FOX for a month would be a nice shot in the arm in the Ratings department.

**GOLDBERG vs RANDY ORTON

I know. You don't have to tell me that you're done with Goldberg. I already know. I am too. The reality is that he has like two more Matches left on his contract. So whether you like it or not, the Legend, Goldberg, will most likely be appearing. So why not feed him to the Legend Killer!!! They've crossed paths in Matches back in 2003 when Goldberg and Triple H were feuding (Orton was a member of Evolution with Triple H at this time), but that was so long ago. How about this, Goldberg comes out on Raw. Looks up the Ramp, says "Who's Next?" And then Orton drops him with an RKO Out of Nowhere, and they're off and running. Most importantly, this match also accomplishes the same thing as Wyatt vs Lesnar. It keeps Goldberg away from any Major Championship. (The fact that he's walked the aisle Twice at WrestleMania as Universal Champion was hard enough to come to terms with. Let's just stay away from that moving forward).

**EDGE vs SETH ROLLINS

At the 2014 Survivor Series, Team Cena defeated Team Authority. As per the Stipulation of that Match, The Authority (Triple H & Stephanie McMahon) would lose their Power in running WWE. The only way they could ever regain their Control is if John Cena grants it back to them. Edge & Christian made a Special Appearance one night on Raw. Seth Rollins would then hold Edge hostage, ready to swing a Chair at Edge's head (Edge being Retired at this point due Neck Surgery) demanding Cena reinstate The Authority, in which Cena did. Point being, Rollins punked out Edge pretty hard this night. Now that Edge is cleared to compete again, look for the Rated R SuperStar to get some revenge!

INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP

**SAMI ZAYN vs KEVIN OWENS

Oh, History with these two! From them fighting over the NXT Title, to their Fights on the Main Roster, then teaming up together against Shane McMahon, the only thing missing with these two is a One on One Championship Match at WrestleMania. And with both of them having Fresh Characters since they last fought, and Sami currently holding the IC Title, this would be a nice little cherry on top of an Amazing, Career Rivalry between two Real Life Best Friends from Montreal.

UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP

**BOBBY LASHLEY vs KEITH LEE

I thought I had an original idea here between two big, strong and athletic guys, then they booked this match for Raw this past week. The match was good! Hopefully, since the match ended in a Disqualification that they can somehow keep these guys away from each other till Mania, cause I feel like this Matchup would do the United States, Championship Justice.

RAW WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP

**ASUKA vs SHAYNA BASZLER

The Two Most Dominant Champions in NXT History. Asuka went Undefeated for over 500 Days, and then when she vacated the title to get called up to the Main Roster, Shayna eventually took over and was just as Dominant. This match is the Championship Match people have been waiting for in the women's division! This needs to happen at Mania!

SMACKDOWN WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP LADDER MATCH

**SASHA BANKS vs BAYLEY

I feel like as long as we've waited for them to Split, we blinked and their Feud is over. Something just didn't seem right. Granted, their Hell in a Cell match was Fantastic, but now with Carmella jumping Sasha every week, Sasha can do this for now while Bayley gains some Momentum back to Win the Royal Rumble, and we can pick back up. I threw the Ladder Match Stip with these two cause it just can't be a Straight Up Match, there's never been a women's Ladder Match in Mania History. So let them add this to their Historic Rivalry along with everything else they've done since NXT.

NO HOLDS BARRED

**BECKY LYNCH vs RONDA ROUSEY

I feel like the reason Ronda Rousey hasn't returned yet is that the only logical way to bring her back is for her to Avenge her only loss in her Pro Wrestling Career. And I'm sure Ronda is still pissed about it!!! Becky will have around three months or so after the birth of her child to be ready for Mania. When The Man returns, and we're all smiles to have her back, that's when you unleash Ronda and have her destroy Becky, thus setting up the No Holds Barred Stipulation.

RAW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

**NEW DAY vs HURT BUSINESS vs VIKING RAIDERS vs MIZ & MORRISON

This is assuming the Viking Raiders will be off IR in time. As non-existent as all three Tag Divisions are in WWE, there are some teams that you want to succeed and be on the show. These are four of those teams that should not be left off the card.

SMACKDOWN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

**STREET PROFITS vs USOS

If Jimmy Uso is good to go by then, I think this should be a straight-up two-on-two tag team contest, and just like the Street Profits did with the New Day this past weekend at Survivor Series. I think The Usos will deliver a great match against Tez and Dawk.

WWE WOMEN’S TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

**CHARLOTTE FLAIR & TESSA BLANCHARD vs THE BELLA TWINS

Reading that threw you for a loop, ha? The Bellas are on record recently that they want one more small run in WWE before officially calling it quits and they want the Tag Titles. Ok, cool. Tessa Blanchard is still currently a Free Agent. Rumors everywhere about where she's going to land. If she decides to go to WWE, the pairing with Charlotte works cause their Fathers were members of the Hall of Fame faction, The Four Horsemen. This will also land Charlotte a Tag Title reign, the one title that's missing from her Resume. Charlotte & Tessa coming together to beat Nia & Shayna to win the belts would be something fun to see as well.

EIGHT MAN TAG TEAM MATCH - KICK OFF SHOW

**JEFF HARDY, RICOCHET, RIDDLE, BRAUN STROWMAN vs RETRIBUTION

Retribution becomes unhinged again and starts jumping anybody and everybody in sight. Jeff, Ricochet, Riddle & Braun decide to join forces against them. Simple. Basic. Why not?

KICK OFF SHOW

**BIANCA BELAIR vs RHEA RIPLEY

If/when Rhea gets the Call-Up, she needs to go to Smackdown. Women's Roster needs some help. I don't want to leave these two off the card, so let them have a little time on the Kick-Off Show to prove they belong on this stage.

ANDRE THE GIANTS MEMORIAL BATTLE ROYAL (KICK OFF SHOW)

**WINNER: R-TRUTH

Throw some 24/7 Title Changes in this as well! In the end, after Truth pins whoever is the 24/7 Champ is to get his belt back, he'll throw that guy over the Top Rope and Win the Andre Trophy as well!

WOMEN’S BATTLE ROYAL (KICK OFF SHOW)

**WINNER: KAIRI SANE

Rumors going around that Mania might get moved to Raymond James Stadium for various reasons. If that happens, bring back Kairi, have her swing in from the Pirate Ship throwing Treasure into the Crowd, and then Win the Battle Royal!!! That'd be fun! Ahoy!

And just for fun, to start the weekend, I'm sure NXT will go back to airing Takeovers on the Saturday before the “Big 4” WWE PPVs. So here’s what I think will happen.

TAKEOVER: WRESTLEMANIA

NXT CHAMPIONSHIP

FINN BALOR vs KARRION KROSS vs TOMMASO CIAMPA

NXT WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP

IO SHIRAI vs EMBER MOON

NXT NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP

DAMIEN PRIEST vs DEXTER LUMIS

UNDISPUTED NXT CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

KUSHIDA vs JORDAN DEVLIN

ADAM COLE vs PETE DUNNE

SIX-MAN TAG TEAM MATCH - KICK OFF SHOW

UNDISPUTED ERA vs LEGADO DEL FANTASMA

Well, that will do it for me! I'm sure I’ll have the itch to do this again around Rumble Time to see where things are at in WWE then.
