Islanders Edge: Sluggish New York routed by Bruins

You win some, and you lose some, right? Well, it just wasn’t meant to be for the New York Islanders in Boston on Thursday night.

The Isles were in the penalty box for a good chunk of the first period. The Bruins notched two goals, one of which came on the power-play. Just 2:56 into the second period, Travis Zajac scored his first goal as an Islander. Mathew Barzal’s beautiful feed had many believing the Isles had woken up, but that hope was short-lived.

The Bruins scored two goals in the third, winning the game 4-1.

Overall the Isles were just sloppy, sluggish, and unprepared. They need to get rested for tomorrow’s 7:00 PM game in Boston against these same Bruins.
